This property is one of less than a dozen houses that make up the hamlet of Puy de Méry at the edge of the Monts de Blond in Haute Vienne (Limousin) the heart of rural France.
Puy de Méry is about 420 miles by road from Calais or Boulogne (approximately 6 hours drive). With more sections of the A28 now open driving via Rouen offers an alternative route to going via Paris and is roughly the same distance and time.
Limoges is the closest major city with the International airport of Bellegarde which is served by Ryanair and Flybe. It is about 25 miles away and a 30 minutes drive from Puy de Méry while Poitiers airport is about 56 miles away just over an hour’s drive.
The nearest boulangerie, also selling some groceries such as milk and butter, is at Blond 2 miles away; there is another at Berneuil 3 miles away. The nearby town of Bellac is 6 miles away, where there are cafés, restaurants, a variety of shops and 6 supermarkets, as well as tennis courts, a swimming pool, a theatre and a cinema.
Within a 12 mile radius there are many restaurants offering a wide variety in menus and prices.

The well known martyr village of Oradour sur Glane. (10 miles, 20 mins).
Mortemart, one of the “Plus belles villages de France”, is 6 miles away and has a first class restaurant.
Lac St Pardoux, 6 miles, offers lake swimming, water skiing and canoeing as well as woodland walks and cycle paths.
If pony trekking interests you there is an equestrian centre which runs treks into the wooded hills of the Monts de Blond from the hamlet of Rulière on the opposite side of the valley from the house.
If you prefer horse riding there is a riding school 4 miles away in the Monts de Blond.
How about fishing? A licence to fish in local lakes can be obtained from the restaurant in the square at Blond.
